Novaedge Services Limited was incorporated on 14 January 2026 by two people who had seen home care from opposite ends: one from inside it, doing the visits, leading the shift, writing the MAR charts and sitting with families at the difficult moments; the other from the governance and systems side, where the question is always whether the paperwork actually describes what is happening in the house.
Our Registered Manager spent years as a health care assistant and then as a senior care assistant and support worker, in people's homes and in residential settings, before moving into management. She has administered medicines and monitored for side effects, led shifts and responded to emergencies, written and updated care plans, mentored new care assistants, and sat with people living with dementia through distress without ever resorting to force or intimidation. She holds the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.
Before care, she spent more than a decade as a principal programme analyst in public sector technology. That is an unusual route into a care agency, and it shows in how Novaedge is built. The instinct to design a system that tells you the truth about itself, rather than one that looks tidy on a spreadsheet, comes directly from that background.
Our Director and Nominated Individual holds provider level accountability: governance, finance, insurance, business continuity, regulatory compliance and the supervision of the Registered Manager. He chairs a monthly provider meeting at which quality, complaints, incidents, safeguarding, medicines and workforce data are reviewed and minuted. It is not a formality. It is the mechanism by which a small service stays honest with itself.
We chose Huddersfield because it is where we live and work, and because Kirklees has an established home care market with a visible quality gap. Of the home care agencies on the CQC public register for the borough, a meaningful minority are rated below Good or are not yet rated. The failings that recur in those reports are the same ones every time: medicines, missed and rushed visits, and not enough travel time. Those are precisely the three things we have designed the service around.
To deliver safe, effective, compassionate and well led personal care to adults in their own homes across Kirklees, so that the people we support can live as independently, safely and well as possible in their own communities and on their own terms.
A home care service in Kirklees that families recommend without hesitating, that professionals refer to with confidence, and that care workers do not want to leave. We would rather be the best small provider in the borough than a mediocre large one, and we will only grow at the speed our workforce, governance and quality assurance can genuinely absorb.

The aim is always to help someone do more for themselves, not less. If you can wash your own face, we hand you the flannel and we wait. Doing things for people because it is quicker is the most common way good intentions cause harm.
Small teams, familiar faces, visits that happen when they were promised. We treat continuity as a clinical issue, not a customer service one, because for a person living with dementia an unfamiliar carer at the door is not an inconvenience, it is a frightening event.
We tell you the price before you ask. We tell you when something has gone wrong before you find out. We tell you when what you need is not something we can safely provide, and we help you find who can.
Faith, culture, language, food, modesty, gender preference, sexuality and family structure are part of the care plan, not exceptions to it. We recruit a workforce that reflects the borough we serve.
Every complaint, incident, near miss and piece of feedback goes into the same monthly review. We are more interested in what a mistake teaches us than in who made it.
The Registered Manager is the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Director and Nominated Individual is the deputy. We work to the Kirklees Safeguarding Adults Board procedures. If you ever have a concern about a member of our staff, including about a manager, you do not have to raise it with us first. The routes to Kirklees Council adult social care and to the Care Quality Commission are published on our Safeguarding page with the phone numbers.
Learn MoreEvery care worker is recruited under Schedule 3 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. That means an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check including the adult barred list before deployment, a full employment history with any gaps explained, verified references including the most recent employer, and right to work checks. Nobody delivers unsupervised personal care until their induction is signed off and their competence has been observed in practice.
